In order to understand better the context of the Rochapea neighbourhood and to be able to share with citizens and local agents what is being carried out there, the following tools have been made available to citizens and local agents:
1. 3D VIEWER, which collects information on projects already underway or planned in the field of energy transition towards self-sufficient and sustainable neighbourhoods. Here you can find information on:
- The energy rehabilitation interventions planned in the neighbourhood.
- The innovative techniques used and/or studied for implementation in any building(s).
- The planned photovoltaic installations, knowing their capacity to produce energy and their operation.
- Environmental activities or projects being developed in the neighbourhood.
This is an open tool that, through the ongoing information exchange process, aims to add all existing or planned initiatives that different agents may be developing or intend to promote. So, if you have any project underway or have carried out any activity related to the theme, do not hesitate to share it with us, and we will add it to the viewer. 2. INTERACTIVE MAPS [https://rochapealivinglab.com/login] to collect and exchange information on:
- Energy consumption and comfort level of dwellings and workplaces in the neighbourhood.
- The habits (daily routes) and mobility needs (bus stops and different types of parking for electric cars, bicycles, motorbikes, etc.) of the population living in Rochapea or using the neighbourhood.
- Incidents in real-time (road cuts, water cuts, etc.) during the development of the rehabilitation works of buildings in the neighbourhood and the displeasure that these incidents mean for the people who live there (the level of discomfort can be assessed and the incident can be commented on to reduce and limit the impact).
This tool enables the collective construction of a photograph of the neighbourhood that reflects the experiences and perceptions of the people who live there. Each person, as well as interacting personally with the application (with their mobile phone, computer or tablet), can visualise the contributions of others and see, at all times, what the existing problems or demands are. In this way, they can get an overview of the situation in the neighbourhood. The application is completely anonymous, and no personal data is shared.
The obtained results will be used to identify new opportunities for intervention in the neighbourhood. Therefore, after a period of use, the results will be analysed, and a collective process will be set in motion to create new proposals that can respond to the detected issues from a local perspective. Solutions that will be implemented and experimented with in the neighbourhood itself to assess their effectiveness and proceed to implement them.
These tools serve as an initial step to getting to know and understand the context on the ground in order to be able to jointly propose new projects for implementation in the neighbourhood to transform Rochapea collectively, enabling all forces to be aligned towards the achievement of common goals. Therefore, we invite you to JOIN THE CHALLENGE AND USE THE TOOLS as much as possible so that we can move forward together and propose processes and projects that benefit the neighbourhood.
La Compasión Escolapios school is collaborating in the process of dissemination and activation of participation in the tools, exploitation of the results and subsequently co-creation workshops for the design of potential projects in the neighbourhood.
From the school, this activity will be led and coordinated by three representatives of the Physics, Chemistry and Science teaching staff. They have trained secondary school pupils to take on the role of research figures and to involve and explain to younger pupils who take on the role of users. The research figures are empowered with the tool and are responsible for transmitting this knowledge to the user figures. Both are responsible for disseminating the tool among their families. The aim is to collect data for exploitation, evaluation and dissemination. In the long term, these results are considered potentially useful for defining future projects and to open spaces of co-creation for their design and, if possible, their implementation. A first training session to explain the project, objectives, the tool and how to use it took place on Monday, 11 September. During the session, the application was experimented with the phones themselves. People quickly grasped the use of the tool, and it was agreed that the people leading the process in the school would continue experimenting with the tool in class with the pupils to prepare them. Subsequently, four events on the streets of Rochapea were organised to introduce the tool to the public. These events have been very successful, and almost 300 people have participated using the interactive maps. New strategies will be taking place in the following months to increase these numbers.
