The renovation preparations have been in high gear in Tartu since September 2024. With the announced opening of the national renovation financing by KredEx in October, many housing associations were working hard to submit their applications.
The residents of Ravila 49 who have been preparing for renovation since the beginning of the year, were also actively participating in providing input for the necessary KredEx application documents. To this end, the project team organized a short survey on October 17 to gauge the attitudes of the residents and to gather opinions on some of the major renovation decisions. 27 apartment owners replied to the survey and the project team was happy to see that the majority of the residents still support renovation.
Based on the preferences of the housing association, the proposals of the renovation working group, the survey results, and KredEx recommendations for maximum renovation support, the following works were added to the preliminary renovation plan:
- Renovation of balconies, including wall insulation and the installation of sliding glass panel windows.
- Reconstruction of the elevator: a new, two-sided opening elevator that will open at floor level.
- Constructing a bike parking facility on the property or a bike room in the basement.
- Renovation of the basement and construction of new storage units with wooden walls.
- Replacement of apartment doors.
- Direct connection to Tartu Veevärk (Tartu Waterworks).
The application of Ravila 49 was submitted to KredEx on October 28. KredEx will inform the housing association of their decision within 120 working days. In case of a positive decision, the housing association can launch the design and construction tender, which will determine the final cost and scope of the renovation.
The project team is grateful to the residents for their cooperation throughout the year and hoping for a good outcome.
