This webinar, part of the EUSEW Sustainable Energy Days, focuses on how citizen-engagement can reach the RePowerEU plan’s building retrofit goals, which aims to combat the high energy prices and other consequences of the war in Ukraine by implementing measures to reduce energy demand in buildings. The workshop brings together relevant initiatives and projects funded by the EC to discuss how to accelerate the decarbonisation of existing building stock by renovating with citizen involvement. The webinar will feature two EU-funded projects, oPEN Lab and ATELIER, which aim to create Positive Energy Neighbourhoods and Positive Energy Districts, respectively.
The workshop will also feature two European Commission initiatives, the Citizen-led renovation Initiative and the Affordable Housing Initiative. Citizen-led renovations and engagement can help align projects with local needs while stimulating skills, businesses, and supply chains.
