Tallinn University of Technology
Tallinna Tehnikaülikool

Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech), the only university of technology in Estonia, is the flagship of Estonian engineering and technology education. Here the synergy between different fields (technological, natural, exact, economic and health sciences) is created and new ideas are born. The University’s approximately 70,000 alumni have shaped the economic landscape of present-day Estonia. TalTech is to become one of the leading technological universities in the Baltic Sea region. The mission of TalTech is to be a promoter of science, technology and innovation and a leading provider of engineering and economic education in Estonia.

TalTech oversees the nurturing of the next generation of engineers and advancing engineering culture in Estonia, contributing to the sustainable development of the society, and increased national prosperity with its innovative services. Our vision is an innovative and sustainable world.

Role in Project

The project partner is Nearly Zero Energy Research Group from the Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture and the FinEst Twins Smart City Center of Excellence. The research groups have long-term experience besides other areas also in scientific and applied research in building physics, energy performance, renovation, BIM, and indoor climate-related areas. The research groups master the increasing complexity by a cross-disciplinary approach that characterises our work in research and education. Our graduates are skilled in engaging all arts and all the disciplines that are relevant to the task at hand. In oPEN Lab, TalTech will coordinate the demonstration of prefab renovation design, manufacturing and installation processes for high-rise buildings and support the value chain overcoming related challenges in the Tartu oPEN Lab.
